Big Cartel takes no percentage of your sales. Not a reduced one, none. If you sell steadily through a shop that does not need much around it, its flat plan will cost you less than ours and the gap widens the more you sell.

Ours is 5% of each sale on top of $29 a month. That is a real number and at volume it is the largest line on the page. We think it buys something, and the rest of this page is the argument for that, but if your priority is the lowest possible total cost on a simple shop then you should probably go and use Big Cartel.

We would rather say that here than have you work it out in four months.

A page builder with real layout control, rather than a theme with a few settings. Sections you can reorder, add, remove and restyle without code, on any theme, including the free ones.

Email on the plan — 2,500 contacts, campaigns, automations, and order confirmations designed in the same builder as the shop, rather than a separate product with its own monthly price.

Both platforms are design-conscious and both are aimed at people who care what their shop looks like, so this is a difference of degree rather than kind.

It also has a free tier, which is a genuinely useful thing to have when you are starting and not yet sure you will keep going.

Work out what you sell in a normal month, take our percentage off it, and add the subscription. Then compare that to their plan plus whatever you would pay separately for email and anything else you need.

If the numbers land close together, the question is which shop you would rather run and which one looks more like your work. That is a fair way to decide and you can answer it without paying us anything, because building a Stashed shop and looking at it costs nothing.

We do not publish their figures: those are set per country, so any number here would be wrong for most people reading it, and a stale one is worse than none.
